Bank of Maldives (BML) has signed a strategic agreement with Singapore Management University (SMU) to strengthen the leadership and professional skills of its employees.

The bank said the partnership will expand collaboration between BML Academy and SMU Academy, with SMU supporting the design and delivery of training programs. The initiative also aims to enhance employees’ technical capabilities through knowledge and skills exchange.

BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said the agreement reflects the bank’s commitment to developing strong leaders and improving expertise across all areas.

Last year, 40 BML employees completed leadership programs with SMU, with participants earning certificates in leadership and people management. The bank confirmed that more training programs are already in progress.

BML stated that investing in staff development remains a key priority, as it works to strengthen its workforce and improve the quality of its banking services.
