Chief Government Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) has announced that seven agreements will be signed during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s state visit to neighboring Sri Lanka, which begins this Sunday.

The President’s Office previously confirmed that President Muizzu is visiting at the invitation of Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. During the four-day visit, the President is scheduled to meet with top Sri Lankan officials and hold official talks with President Dissanayake to further strengthen the close bilateral ties between the two nations.

In the "Presser with the Spokes" media briefing, Mundhu highlighted that Sri Lanka remains one of the Maldives' closest partners and confirmed that several Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) are finalized.

"According to the current schedule, at least seven agreements will be signed between the two countries. These cover very important sectors," Mundhu stated.The Spokesperson added that during the visit, President Muizzu will meet with the Maldivian community residing in Sri Lanka.

Furthermore, an Investment Forum is scheduled to be held in Colombo as part of the official proceedings to promote economic cooperation.
