A fire broke out at the library of Feydhoo School in Addu City this morning.

According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), reports of the fire outside the library were received at approximately 8:20 AM. Firefighters from the Hithadhoo Fire Station were immediately dispatched to the scene and managed to fully extinguish the blaze by 8:56 AM.

The MNDF confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident.

However, photos released by the authorities show extensive damage to the facility. The fire destroyed several bookshelves, cabinets, and a significant number of books. Additionally, the library's doors and air conditioning units were completely charred and ruined.
