During a press conference held at the President's Office today, the President stated that out of the funds owed to local companies for various government projects, MVR 3.3 billion has been released during this period.

"Looking at the past six months, from November 1, 2025, to April 26, MVR 3.3 billion has been paid to various local vendors," the President said.

The President noted that, on average, this equates to issuing payments to 700 vendors every week.

He further mentioned that the government has decided to release an additional MVR 260 million in payments to local companies during the remaining period of this month.

The President added that the government is moving forward with a focus on settling foreign debts while simultaneously paying off dues to citizens, as part of its efforts to relieve the public from the burden of debt.
