Former Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar, former Minister of Tourism and Environment Thariq Ibrahim, and former Attorney General Dhiyana Saeed have been appointed as Ambassadors at Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Chief Government Spokesperson at the President’s Office, Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu), confirmed to "One" that all three individuals have been appointed to these positions. However, he noted that their appointments took place on three different dates.
He further explained that these three figures were appointed as Ambassadors at Large at the Foreign Ministry with the intent of eventually assigning them to vacant Ambassador posts.
Mundhu also mentioned that some of these appointees have already begun reporting for work at the ministry.
Both Adam Shareef and Thariq Ibrahim were among the ten cabinet ministers who resigned from their positions on the 10th of this month.
