The distribution of 50 tons of dates gifted by Saudi Arabia to the Maldives has officially commenced.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs announced today that the distribution of these dates, donated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, is now underway.
In the Greater Malé Area, the distribution is being managed by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and is taking place at the Islamic Centre hall. Dates will be distributed in the Malé region starting today until the 14th of next month, from 09:30 AM to 01:00 PM daily.
For households in Malé, Hulhumalé, and Villimalé, dates will be issued upon verifying the household address, electricity meter number, and the Maldivian National Identity Card of the person collecting the dates.
In other cities and islands, one packet of dates will be provided per household until the stock allocated for that specific island or city is exhausted.
The allocation for islands and cities is determined at a rate of 50 packets for every 100 households. The distribution in these areas will be coordinated through the respective island and city councils.
