The national airline, Maldivian, and the national airline of Sri Lanka, SriLankan Airlines, have signed a partnership agreement.

Maldivian stated today that this agreement is a significant step toward linking the Maldives' domestic flight network with major global markets. The airline noted that the primary goal of this partnership is to utilize the resources of both airlines to provide convenient services to travelers.

With this agreement, tourists visiting the Maldives on SriLankan Airlines' international flights can now travel seamlessly to 17 destinations within the country via Maldivian.

According to Maldivian, this agreement will offer great convenience to tourists arriving in the Maldives through Colombo. Similarly, Maldivians traveling abroad will have the opportunity to fly to Colombo via Maldivian and easily book travel to any global destination using SriLankan Airlines' extensive network.

Maldivian highlighted that the greatest convenience for Maldivians under this partnership is the arrangement allowing international connecting flights to be booked from any domestic airport in the Maldives.

Maldivian's Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas stated that this is a vital step in strengthening connectivity to various regions of the Maldives and promoting tourism.

"By connecting SriLankan Airlines' international network with our domestic flights, there will be a major revolution in tourism and the trips Maldivians take abroad," Iyas said.

Maldivian stated that this agreement will strengthen regional ties and bring the services of both airlines under one umbrella. As a result, the Maldives will become a destination that is easily accessible from anywhere in the world.
