Starting tomorrow, the government has arranged for fishing vessels to obtain fuel at STO shed rates from 13 islands. The Ministry of Fisheries stated today that arrangements are now in place for boats registered under "Fahi Hakatha" to receive subsidized fuel from these locations.

The 13 locations registered under Fahi Hakatha are:

The government states that this will reduce operational costs for fishing and provide significant economic relief to fishermen. This initiative fulfills a government pledge to advance the Maldivian fishing industry and provide solutions to the challenges faced by fishermen.
