Voting for the second round of the Local Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) elections has commenced. Polling began this morning at 8:00 AM. In this round, votes will be cast for five seats: two council seats and three WDC seats.

Following the initial vote held on the 4th of this month, several candidates received an equal number of votes. As per regulations, this second round is being held today to elect a member for the seat reserved for women on the Baa Atoll Dhonfanu Council and to elect a councillor for the Fuvahmulah City Dhadimagu constituency. The Dhadimagu constituency seat is also reserved for women.

In the Women’s Development Committee elections, the second round of voting is taking place to elect the President of the HA. Kelaa WDC, as well as members for the HDh. Neykurendhoo and L. Maavah WDCs.
