President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reconstituted the Special Cabinet Committee formed in response to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

The committee, initially established on 28 February 2026, was restructured during a Cabinet meeting on 15 April 2026 following recent changes to the Cabinet.

The reconstituted committee is chaired by Finance Minister Moosa Zameer and includes Foreign Affairs Minister Iruthisham Adam, Economic Development Minister Mohamed Saeed, Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam, and Tourism Minister Mohamed Ameen.

The committee continues to focus on addressing issues related to the evolving situation in the Middle East.
