President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has established a Citizens’ Complaints Bureau within the President’s Office to provide a round-the-clock platform for citizens to submit concerns and grievances.
The initiative, first announced during the Presidential Address to the People’s Majlis on 5 February, aims to strengthen public service responsiveness and accountability. The Bureau is expected to begin operations by mid-year, with administrative preparations and staff recruitment currently underway.
At its core, the Bureau will use a digital system to process and track complaints received through multiple channels. It will coordinate with relevant government agencies to gather information and ensure timely responses. A 24-hour call centre will also be introduced as part of the service, offering citizens direct and continuous access to support.
