President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) as Chief Government Spokesperson at the President’s Office, granting him ministerial rank.
Mundhu brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as a Cabinet member, ambassador to multiple countries, and as Chief Government Spokesperson from 2005 to 2007. He also held the position of Presidential Spokesperson from 2007 to 2008.
He played a key role in establishing the Strategic Communications Unit at the President’s Office. Most recently, he served as the Maldives’ Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
