The government has announced a major restructuring of its ministries, separating the Civil Aviation sector from the Transport Ministry and establishing a new Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation.
Following the change, Tourism Minister Thoriq Ibrahim has resigned from his position. Mohamed Ameen has been appointed as the new Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, with the official ceremony held at the President’s Office on Wednesday night.
In addition, the responsibilities of the former Transport Ministry have been reassigned to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. Mohamed Saeed has been appointed to lead the expanded ministry as Minister of Economic Development, Transport and Trade.
