Mariyam Mariya has resigned as the Minister of Agriculture.

"One" has confirmed that Mariyam Mariya has resigned from her position as the Minister of Agriculture.

Mariya was appointed as the Minister of Agriculture on December 26, 2024. Her appointment followed a major cabinet reshuffle where several ministries were abolished and others were merged. Prior to assuming the role of Minister of Agriculture, Mariya served as the Minister of Higher Education.

Along with Mariya, a total of 10 ministers have tendered their resignations today.

In addition to the 10 cabinet ministers of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's administration who resigned today, several heads of state-owned enterprises have also stepped down within this week.
