Heena Waleed, the Spokesperson for the President's Office, has stated that there has been no change to the established policy for President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's meetings with journalists.
Heena made this clarification in response to inquiries regarding why a press conference with the President was not held today.
In a post on X, Heena stated that the policy established starting March 1, 2026, will continue regularly and remains unchanged.
She quoted the President's remarks from this year's Presidential Address regarding the conduct of these press interactions.
In the Presidential Address, the President stated: "To further strengthen the close and friendly relationship I maintain with the media, and to provide information directly, I will, God willing, meet with journalists every Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM starting from March this year, as a general rule. I wish to state that as long as there are no travel requirements, public holidays, or other circumstances that necessitate a change to this schedule, I will continue to do so."
Heena added that the schedule for press conferences in the coming weeks will continue to be shared in accordance with this policy.
