Ali Arif, the Minister at the President's Office, has resigned from his position.

The Spokesperson at the President's Office, Heena Waleed, has confirmed this to "One".

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu appointed Ali Arif as the Minister for Presidential Affairs at the President's Office on the first day of the current administration, November 17, 2023. Ali Arif is also a relative of President Muizzu.

His resignation follows a series of departures within the administration; yesterday, the Managing Director of MWSC, Abdul Matheen Mohamed, and the Managing Director of the state-owned fisheries company MIFCO, Farhath Shaheer, also tendered their resignations.

This period has seen several high-level dismissals and resignations within state-owned enterprises. Last week, the Managing Director of MPL, Mohamed Rishwan, resigned. Additionally, the government has dismissed other heads of companies, including the Managing Director of AgroNet, Hussain Didi, and the Managing Director of Fenaka, Mohamed Najah.
