A severe fire broke out in a residential house in K. Huraa last night, burning the building beyond use and leaving its occupants displaced.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) stated that the island council informed them that one person among the 15 residents of the house sustained burns to their hand and has since received medical treatment.
According to the NDMA, efforts are currently underway, in collaboration with the island council, to provide necessary humanitarian assistance to the 15 individuals affected by this incident.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
In addition to the house fire in Huraa, a separate fire incident was also reported at Soneva Jani resort last night.
