A new shipment of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has arrived in the Maldives, helping to stabilize supply after recent disruptions.

Speaking at a press conference at the President’s Office, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed confirmed that the State Trading Organization (STO) had received the shipment. An STO media official added that the delivery arrived yesterday and that efforts are underway to ensure uninterrupted access to essential services.

The official also noted that the situation is being closely monitored to prevent further disruptions.

Global and regional gas shortages, driven in part by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, had previously affected LPG availability in the Maldives. As a result, Maldive Gas temporarily limited sales. With the arrival of the new shipment, gas distribution has now returned to normal.
