President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced the completion of the Veymandoo land reclamation project in Thaa Atoll, just 23 days after work began on March 12.

The project, carried out by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), included both land reclamation and harbor development. Reclamation was conducted using the trailing suction hopper dredger Filippo Brunelleschi.

A total of 27 hectares of land, equivalent to 882,693 cubic meters, was reclaimed during the project.

MACL stated that the development is expected to enhance infrastructure and support regional growth in the Maldives.
