President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Ahmed Mohamed as the new Commissioner of Police, elevating him from his previous role as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

The insignia of office was formally presented during a ceremony held this morning at the President’s Office.

Ahmed Mohamed joined the Maldives Police Service in 1995 and has built a long-standing career within the institution. Over the years, he has served in several key leadership roles, including positions in the Organisational Reform and Development Department, Hulhumalé Police Station, and the Central Investigation Command.

He holds a Master of Shari’ah.
