The government has officially declared the next two days as public holidays.

The President's Office announced today that this decision was made at the request of the Elections Commission (EC). The move acknowledges the significant involvement of government and civil service employees in the administrative and operational tasks associated with today's Local Council elections, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections, and the public referendum.

The President's Office further noted that essential election-related work is scheduled to continue following the conclusion of the polls. Consequently, both tomorrow and Monday have been designated as public holidays.
