President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inspected the progress of the Boduthakurufaanu Magu redevelopment project, a major infrastructure initiative aimed at improving urban mobility.

During his visit, the President was received by Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muththalib and MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudee. He reviewed Phase One of the project, focusing on segments two through five, which extend from Izzudheen Jetty to the Henveiru Ferry Terminal.

The redevelopment includes resurfacing the road with asphalt and widening sections to accommodate increased traffic. Earlier phases have already been completed and opened to the public, including land reclamation works and road expansion near key areas such as Republic Square and the Fish Market.

Awarded in April 2025, the project aims to transform Boduthakurufaanu Magu into a modern urban corridor. Once completed, it will feature improved drainage systems and wider lanes to help reduce congestion and enhance travel for both motorists and pedestrians.
