Development of the terminal at Dharavandhoo Airport in B. Atoll has officially begun.

The project was inaugurated by Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen at a ceremony attended by senior officials, including Island Aviation Services Limited (IAS) Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas.

During the event, management of the airport was formally handed over to Island Aviation.

The project will expand the terminal by 814 square meters, including a larger arrival hall, new check-in and baggage facilities, as well as a café and departure gate.

Design and consultancy work was carried out by Epoch Associates Private Limited, while Island Aviation has also opened bids for further expansion.

Dharavandhoo Airport, established 14 years ago, is expected to see improved passenger services once the project is completed.
