President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed confidence that the People's National Congress (PNC) will secure favorable results across many islands in the Local Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) elections scheduled for this Saturday.
During a press conference held at the President's Office today, the President stated that like other political parties, the PNC is actively conducting its election predictions. He noted that the party is engaging with citizens daily, making phone calls, and gathering information through various channels to gauge the public sentiment.
The President affirmed that there is strong assurance of significant support from numerous islands across the Maldives.
"There is always a trend, and we are shaping our efforts in alignment with that trend. While I won't specify an exact percentage, we are very confident, God willing, that the people across many islands in the Maldives will provide their support in this election. I will not, however, predict here how specific islands or cities will ultimately vote," the President remarked.
The President further stated that the candidates contesting for council seats, mayoral positions, and island council presidencies on the PNC ticket are individuals who will provide 100 percent cooperation in fulfilling the pledges made to the people.
He added that in order to carry out the government's development projects at a rapid pace, it is essential to vote for the government's candidates.
