The President of the Netball Association, Fazna Jaleel, has been appointed as the Chef de Mission for the Maldivian contingent at the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

This year's Commonwealth Games are scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2.

In preparation for the games, Fazna and the Secretary General of the Maldives Olympic Committee, Thamooh Ahmed Saeed (Thamoo), recently participated in the Commonwealth Games seminar held in Glasgow.

Fazna, who has served as the President of the Netball Association since 2019, has also held the position of Vice President of the Asian Netball Federation since 2023. Currently serving as a Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Tourism, Fazna is also an executive committee member of the Maldives Olympic Committee. Additionally, she served as the Vice President of the South Asian Netball Federation from 2021 to 2024.
