Velana International Airport (VIA) has held a vibrant celebration to mark the 30th anniversary of Austrian Airlines, the national flag carrier of Austria, operating flights to the Maldives.

The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) stated today that to commemorate this milestone, gifts were presented to the 324 passengers who departed on the Austrian Airlines flight yesterday.

Furthermore, the 328 passengers arriving in the Maldives on the flight, which docked at the new terminal, were accorded a warm welcome accompanied by traditional Boduberu performances. MACL noted that this special event organized by VIA symbolizes the close and enduring relationship between Austrian Airlines and MACL.

MACL further highlighted that Austrian Airlines' three decades of continuous service have significantly contributed to the growth of Maldivian tourism and strengthened the bilateral ties between the Maldives and Austria.
