Bank of Maldives (BML) has decided to distribute a record total of MVR 322 million as dividends to its shareholders.

This decision was finalized during the bank's 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held last night at Nasandhura.

At the BML AGM, a record dividend of MVR 60 per share for the year 2025 was approved, totaling MVR 322 million. Additionally, it was passed to issue two bonus shares for every existing share held.

Following the issuance of bonus shares, the value of each share with a face value of MVR 50 is estimated at MVR 1015.90.

According to the bank, this brings the total benefit per share this year to MVR 2091.80.

Last year, BML achieved a net profit of MVR 2.5 billion, marking the highest profit in the bank's history.

While BML's total assets grew to MVR 55.8 billion, the bank disbursed MVR 10 billion in new loans and financing during the past year.
