The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has confirmed that two people remain missing after a speedboat capsized off the coast of Felidhoo.

Police reported the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. on Thursday. The speedboat, built for racing and drifting, was carrying seven people, including two British and Russian women and five Indian men. Five passengers fell into the sea, and while some were rescued, two Indian nationals are still unaccounted for.

MNDF officials said search operations are ongoing, with large areas covered by sea and diving teams.

Among those on board was Indian businessman Gautam Singhania, who was reportedly operating the boat at the time. He sustained injuries in the accident and later traveled to India for treatment.
