The physical work for the construction of 50 housing units and the development of roads in Phase 3 of Thinadhoo City officially commenced today with a foundation-laying ceremony.

The foundation stones were laid by the Minister of Construction, Housing, and Infrastructure, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, during a special event held in Thinadhoo today.

In a press release issued today, the Ministry stated that the road development project, contracted to the Road Development Corporation (RDC), and the construction of 50 flats, awarded to a private firm, were both launched today.

Under the road development project, RDC will undertake the asphalt paving of 50 roads, covering a total distance of 19.3 kilometers, and establish an integrated drainage system. The Ministry noted that RDC has been tasked with completing this work within a period of three years and nine months.

Regarding the housing project, the Ministry confirmed that the contract was awarded to Swift Engineering Private Limited. The project involves the construction of 50 three-bedroom flats and is scheduled to be completed within one year and two months.
