The majority of tourists visiting the Maldives spend their holidays at resorts. Specifically, 67 percent of the tourists who arrived this month opted for resort accommodations.
While this period is typically a peak season for tourism, the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has led to the closure of certain travel routes, resulting in a decline in arrivals. This downturn is expected to have a negative impact on the Maldivian economy.
