The Maldives Police Service has reported that a migrant worker was found dead in the lagoon of Hithadhoo.

Police said the body was reported at around 4:41 p.m. on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as an expatriate male.

The body has been taken to the hospital, but authorities said the man’s identity has not yet been confirmed.

Police have not released further details and said the case is under investigation.
