An agreement has been signed between the Maldives Thalassemia Society and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to conduct thalassemia awareness programs in Hulhumalé.

The agreement was signed at a special ceremony held at the HDC Head Office. Managing Director of HDC, Ali Zuhair, signed on behalf of the corporation, while Chairperson Imaan Mohamed signed on behalf of the Thalassemia Society.

Under the agreement, HDC will provide office space in Hulhumalé to support the society’s work. The Thalassemia Society will also conduct awareness sessions in Hulhumalé Phase 1 and Phase 2.

HDC stated that the initiative aims to address the number of babies born with thalassemia in the Maldives and reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out more community-focused programs in the future.
