The Criminal Court has ordered the detention of a 21-year-old Nepali woman for an additional 20 days on suspicion of drug trafficking.
Nisha Rai was arrested on December 17 in connection with the case. Police said drug trafficking equipment was found in the apartment where she was living at the time of her arrest. The items were reportedly in plain view, along with weighing equipment.
The court granted the extension on Tuesday. According to the investigating officer, the case has been forwarded to the Prosecutor General's Office, which has yet to decide whether to proceed with prosecution. A decision is expected soon.
Police also confirmed that a large quantity of drugs was seized in connection with the case.
