State Trading Organization (STO) has donated a state-of-the-art cardiovascular ultrasound system to Hulhumalé Hospitalto enhance cardiac care services in the Maldives.

The GE Vivid E95 cardiovascular ultrasound system, developed in partnership with GE Healthcare, was introduced during an application training session held at Hulhumalé Hospital on February 26. The session was attended by health professionals from Hulhumalé Hospital and representatives from Treetop Hospital.

According to STO, the Vivid E95 is a high-resolution cardiac imaging system designed to monitor heart structures, function and blood circulation accurately. It includes probes suitable for adults, infants and newborns, enabling early detection of heart defects and supporting cardiac tests for patients of all ages.

STO stated that introducing such specialized services locally will strengthen institutional capacity and reduce reliance on treatment abroad.

In addition to supplying and installing the equipment, STO Healthcare will provide ongoing technical support and training. Biomedical engineers and clinical application specialists have also been trained to ensure warranty coverage, after-sales service, and long-term operational sustainability.
