President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that he is working very closely with Arab Islamic nations following the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East initiated by the strikes on Iran by the United States and Israel.

Speaking at a press conference held at the President's Office today, the President noted that he is in direct contact with the leaders of Arab Islamic nations. In this regard, he held discussions with the President of the UAE last night and confirmed that phone calls are scheduled for today with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar.

The President stated that during these calls, he is conveying the Maldives' unwavering support for these nations.

"I have conveyed that the Maldivian people stand in solidarity with them regarding the casualties and damages resulting from the ongoing strikes," the President said.

The President further clarified that the Maldives condemns the attacks from all sides involved in this conflict. He noted that the official statement issued by the Maldives calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and reaffirmed that the Maldives stands firmly with the Islamic nations.
