The Ministry of Higher Education says it is closely monitoring the situation of Maldivian students studying overseas and will take all necessary steps to ensure their safety and security.

In a statement issued today, the Ministry said it is assessing whether Maldivian students in the Middle East could be affected by the ongoing unrest in the region.

The government stated that discussions are underway with relevant authorities regarding recent developments and that the situation is being carefully observed.

“We will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of our students at this critical time,” the statement said.
