President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that he will not visit any islands to campaign for the upcoming local council elections.

Speaking at a Taraweeh gathering organized by the People's National Congress at Artificial Beach, the President said it is not his policy to travel to islands for election campaigning.

“I have no intention of going to the islands for the upcoming local council elections,” he said.

However, he added that he would accept invitations to visit islands if he is invited to attend celebrations marking the completion of major development projects.

The President emphasized that the government prioritizes addressing the needs of the people, regardless of the election period.
