Mamnoon Abdul Gayoom, the elder brother of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and younger brother of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, has passed away.

It is understood that Mamnoon passed away suddenly last night at the age of 68.

Former President Yameen, former President Maumoon, and the late Mamnoon were paternal brothers.

According to the Malé City Funeral Prayer page, the funeral service for Mamnoon will be held at the Aa-Sahara Mosque following tonight’s Taraweeh prayer.
