The State Trading Organization (STO) has announced that prices of staple food items will be monitored and kept reasonable during the upcoming Ramadan.

STO Media Coordinator Shifla Ibrahim told One Online that 23 basic food items, including bananas, oranges, onions, potatoes, eggs, and more, will have controlled prices, which can be found on the STO website. Prices will be set based on current trader rates.

To improve accessibility, STO will establish wholesale centres in front of the industrial area and North Harbour in Malé City, and in the Hulhumalé industrial area. The services will also be available across 11 regions of the Maldives.
