The northern side of Boduthakurufaanu Magu in Malé has been widened, asphalted, and will reopen to traffic at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow.

In a statement released, the Transport Ministry said the section from Chandani Magu to Jetty Junction will be accessible to road users starting tomorrow morning.

The widening project began on August 21, 2025. The redevelopment of Boduthakurufaanu Magu was awarded to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) at a cost of MVR 144.5 million, with a completion period of 455 days.

Under the project, the road is being expanded to four lanes, with asphalt laid from the fish market area to the middle of Republic Square, aiming to ease traffic congestion and improve transport flow in the capital.
