Two men have been arrested for attempting to smuggle more than 36 kilograms of drugs into the Maldives.

Police identified the suspects as Hassan Mafaz, 26, and Visham Mohamed, 35, both from Malé City. They were arrested during a special operation carried out after the drugs were handed over to Maldives Customs.

The Criminal Court has remanded the two men in custody for 15 days. Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
