Ali Aflah, the CEO of online tuition service "Bright Minds," has been arrested in connection with a case of suspected child sexual abuse.

The police stated tonight that a 27-year-old Maldivian male was taken into custody on suspicion of sexually abusing a minor.

According to the police, the arrest was made last Wednesday.

It has been confirmed that the individual arrested in relation to this case is Aflah, the CEO of Bright Minds.

The police further noted that when he was presented to the court for a remand hearing, the court ordered him to be detained for 30 days.
