National airline, Maldivian, is set to launch its seaplane services to AA. Thoddoo tomorrow.
An official from Maldivian confirmed to "One" today that the construction of the seaplane landing platform in Thoddoo has been completed.
According to the official, scheduled seaplane flights to Thoddoo will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays. The ticket price for a one-way trip is set at MVR 799.
During his visit to Thoddoo on August 20, 2025, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with the island's residents and pledged to initiate seaplane services to the island within this month.
The President emphasized that boosting island economies is a top priority for the government. He noted that Thoddoo is a leading island in both agriculture and tourism, with approximately 80 tourism-related businesses currently operational. He stated that the government's policy is to provide all necessary support to further develop these sectors.
"By the grace of God, with the establishment of a dedicated seaplane platform and all necessary preparations finalized, scheduled seaplane flights will commence to this island starting from February next year," the President had stated.
The President also highlighted that this service would alleviate the challenges and concerns faced by tourism operators, especially during rough weather conditions, while providing significant convenience to the general public.
