President Dr Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the Judicial Year 2026 at a ceremony held at the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE).

The annual event provides a platform to review the judiciary’s achievements over the past year and to outline priorities and objectives for the year ahead. It also brings together judges and personnel from across the judicial sector to strengthen engagement and cooperation.

A special segment of the ceremony was dedicated to honouring retired judges for their distinguished service. Chief Justice of the Maldives, Uz Abdul Ghanee Mohamed, delivered the annual Judicial Address.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu presented plaques of honour to retired judges and staff members in recognition of their long-standing service and commitment to the judiciary. Additionally, the Chief Justice awarded plaques of appreciation to seven individuals for their significant contributions to the judicial sector.
