Maziya Sports and Recreation Club has officially lifted the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League shield after defeating Odi Sports Club in tonight’s match, concluding their campaign without a single loss.

Maziya had already secured the league title prior to their final two matches. This victory marks the club's fifth consecutive league title and their sixth overall, with their first win dating back to 2016.

This season marks the third time Maziya has claimed the league title undefeated, having previously achieved this feat in the 2020-21 and 2023 seasons. By winning tonight’s match 1-0, Maziya finalized their unbeaten run, while Odi Sports Club finished their debut season in the top division in an impressive second place.

Maziya clinched the championship with 48 points. Odi Sports Club followed in second place with 39 points from 18 matches. New Radiant finished third with 37 points, while Buru Sports Club took fourth with 29 points. Club Eagles ended the season in fifth with 23 points, while Victory SC and TC Sports Club finished sixth and seventh respectively, both with 21 points. Club Green Streets and Club Valencia both secured 12 points, placing eighth and ninth, with Valencia facing relegation. United Victory finished at the bottom of the table with 11 points and has also been relegated.

With the bottom two teams relegated, seventh-placed TC Sports Club and eighth-placed Green Streets will have to compete in the relegation play-offs.

The decisive goal for Maziya in tonight's match was scored early by Sergio Mendi Iglesias. Despite facing challenges after Ahmed Bassam Mohamed Naeem was shown a red card in the 28th minute, Odi Sports Club displayed significant resilience throughout the game.

Both teams had scoring opportunities in the second half, with Maziya creating several clear chances. Attempts by Naiz Hassan (Dhadhu), Ahmed Aiham, and Abdullah Aisam missed the target, while Odi’s efforts to equalize were thwarted by excellent saves from Maziya’s goalkeeper, Hussain Shareef.
