The K. Huraa Island Council has announced the opening of bids for the lease of 17 land plots dedicated to tourism development and guesthouse construction on the island.

According to the announcement gazetted by the council yesterday, 17 plots from the newly reclaimed area of the island will be leased for a duration of 50 years for tourism purposes.

The council stated that the price for the bid document is MVR 25,000. The deadline for submitting requests to purchase bid forms and the issuance of these documents is 12:30 PM on the 12th of this month.

An information session regarding the bidding process is scheduled for 12:15 PM on the 15th of this month at the Council Secretariat. Interested parties are requested to submit their proposals to the council office by 1:00 PM on the 26th of this month.

The Huraa Council further informed that additional details regarding the leased plots can be obtained by emailing [email protected].

Huraa, located just a 30-minute speedboat ride from Male', is a well-known hub for local tourism. While numerous guesthouses are already operational on the island, several new projects are currently under development.
