The reclamation of 63 hectares of land for Hulhumalé Phase 3 has been completed, the President announced at a PNC campaign event last evening.
Speaking at the event, the President Dr Mohamed Muizzu said that with the completion of this phase, reclamation work will now begin in the Giraavarufalhu. He noted that the two dredgers required for the work are already positioned near the Giraavarufalhu.
The President also said that land plots leased from the island will be released soon, adding that the handover of land plots from Gulhifalhu and Giraavarufalhu will be completed as part of the project.
In addition, he stated that preparations are underway for the reclamation of Uthuru Thilafalhu, while reclamation work at Fushidhiggaru falhu is currently in progress. According to the President, the Fushidhiggaru falhu reclamation project is expected to be completed by the end of this year, and the government is working on identifying recipients for land plots in that area.
