The Ministry of Tourism has announced that N. Maafaru International Airport has recorded the second-highest number of tourist arrivals to the Maldives.
According to official statistics released by the Ministry, Velana International Airport (VIA) remains the primary gateway for visitors, with a total of 127,486 tourists arriving through the airport.
The data further reveals that Maafaru International Airport facilitated the entry of 514 tourists into the country.
Maafaru International Airport is a key destination for private aviation, hosting a significant number of private jets annually. According to the report, more than 200 jets have landed at the airport so far this year.
By the end of the peak season, total jet movements at Maafaru International Airport are projected to reach approximately 800.
