Police statistics show that stolen items and cash worth more than MVR 2.6 million were recovered during December.
Figures released by the Malé Police Command indicate that the total value of recovered property last month amounted to MVR 2,673,746.02. The recoveries were made across a number of theft-related cases handled during the period.
Among the items recovered were 38 motorcycles valued at around MVR 1.84 million and 18 mobile phones worth approximately MVR 154,228. Police also recovered MVR 416,320.80 in cash from 40 theft cases.
In addition, four electronic items valued at MVR 19,730 were recovered, along with other goods worth MVR 243,467.22 from 50 separate cases.
Police said the figures reflect ongoing efforts to investigate theft cases and recover stolen property.
