Civil servants will now be able to apply for special medical leave directly to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) under a revised policy.
CSC said the change was made to address delays caused when applications were submitted through government offices, which often slowed communication with employees. To resolve this issue, employees are now required to submit their medical leave requests directly to CSC while copying the application to their respective institutions.
According to CSC, applications must be submitted at least 15 days before the intended start of the leave and must include all relevant supporting documents. Requests must be made using the designated Special Medical Leave Application Form.
